How We Protect Users
At AnyGig, our goal is simple: to make booking and working in live entertainment safer, clearer, and more professional — for both performers and hirers.
Live events involve people, timing, and money. Things can go wrong if they're informal or rushed. That's why AnyGig puts clear structures in place to reduce risk and remove uncertainty.
AnyGig reduces risk in three ways. First, verification: where a performer has supplied documents such as public liability insurance, a DBS check or identity verification, the verified status is shown on their profile — rely only on the badges and statuses actually displayed there, because not every performer holds every document. Second, contracts: on eligible confirmed bookings a contract is generated covering performance details, cancellation terms and payment conditions, where the contract flow is completed by both parties. Third, optional Payment Protection: on eligible card bookings and invoices, when Payment Protection is selected, the card payment is taken through Stripe and the payout to the performer is delayed until the release conditions are met. Direct bank transfers are paid straight to the performer and are not held, monitored or protected by AnyGig or Stripe. AnyGig's service fee is charged to the hirer, so the performer keeps the full fee they quoted — their own tax, banking and business costs are still their own.
Here's how we protect everyone who uses the platform.

How Does AnyGig Protect Users?
AnyGig combines clear booking records, contracts on eligible confirmed bookings, verification statuses shown on performer profiles, optional Payment Protection on eligible card payments, and a platform dispute process. Where Payment Protection is selected, the hirer's card payment is captured by Stripe at checkout and the payout to the performer is delayed until the release conditions are met — so the hirer is not paying out for a performance that never happens, and the performer is not chasing the money afterwards. Payment Protection is optional and is not available on direct bank transfers, which are paid straight to the performer. Verification varies by performer: check the badges displayed on the profile you are booking.
Optional Payment Protection
Payment Protection is an optional, escrow-like payment handling arrangement through Stripe, available on eligible card bookings and invoices where it is explicitly enabled — for invoices, that means a card-enabled invoice for an event within three months. It is not a regulated escrow, deposit-taking or safeguarding service, and AnyGig does not itself hold your cash.
When it is enabled, the card payment is captured by Stripe at checkout, and the payout of the performance fee to the performer is delayed until the release conditions are met — normally 24 hours after the event, or earlier if the hirer confirms completion. If a dispute is raised within the platform dispute window, the payout can be paused while the platform process runs.
Where Payment Protection is not selected, a card payment is an ordinary card payment. Direct bank transfers are paid to the performer's own bank account and are not held, monitored or protected by AnyGig or Stripe.
Contracts on Confirmed Bookings
On eligible confirmed bookings, AnyGig generates a digital contract covering performance terms, cancellation schedule, payment conditions and dispute rights, so neither side has to draft or negotiate the wording. The contract exists once the booking is confirmed and the contract flow is completed by both parties — a booking where that flow has not been completed does not have one, and an invoice sent on its own is not a contract. Check the booking itself to confirm a contract is in place.
Performer Compliance Verification
Performers can submit identity, Public Liability Insurance (PLI) and DBS documentation for checking, and the resulting status is shown on their profile. Verification is not uniform across the platform, so rely only on the verification badges and statuses actually displayed on the profile you are booking, and ask for current documents if something matters to your event. Where a booking requires it, an IR35 Status Determination Statement can be generated for the booking.
Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises between a hirer and a performer over cancellation, delivery or payment, AnyGig's dispute process applies the published platform rules to objective evidence and reaches a final platform-level outcome on how the payment is handled. AnyGig is not an arbitrator or a judge, and the process does not remove your statutory rights, your right to go to court, or your card issuer's chargeback process. Where Payment Protection is in place, the payout to the performer can be paused while the dispute is reviewed.
What AnyGig Does Not Cover
Payment Protection applies only to eligible card bookings and invoices where it was explicitly selected before payment. It does not apply to direct bank transfers, which are paid to the performer's own account, or to anything agreed off-platform. AnyGig does not assess artistic quality or event satisfaction, does not award damages or compensation, and cannot control Stripe or card-network limits, chargeback outcomes or payout timing. Completing the booking, contract and payment stages on AnyGig is what makes these protections available.
Clear bookings — with protection where it counts
Contracts on confirmed bookings, verification shown on profiles, and optional Payment Protection on eligible card payments.
Start HiringClear Bookings, No Grey Areas
Every booking on AnyGig is recorded with:
- agreed services
- event date and time
- booking window
- fee breakdown
This avoids misunderstandings and gives both sides a shared reference point if questions arise later.

Secure Payments Through Trusted Providers
Payments made on AnyGig are processed by regulated third-party payment providers (such as Stripe).
On eligible card bookings where optional Payment Protection is selected, Stripe captures the payment at checkout and the payout of the performance fee to the performer is delayed until the release conditions are met. AnyGig does not hold your cash: Stripe holds and moves the funds within its own payment infrastructure, and AnyGig applies the platform rules and sends Stripe the operational instructions for when a payout or refund happens.
Direct bank transfers are paid straight to the performer and are not held, monitored or protected by AnyGig or Stripe. Refunds, chargebacks and payout timing remain subject to Stripe and the card networks.
This protects:
- performers from late or missing payment
- hirers from paying for services that are never delivered
Fair Cancellation Rules, Set in Advance
Live performance is date-specific. Once a date is held, it's often impossible to replace.
That's why AnyGig applies clear cancellation rules that:
- are shown before payment
- are accepted at checkout
- balance fairness for both sides
There are no surprise deductions and no decisions made after the event.
Protection If a Performer Doesn't Show
If a performer fails to attend or delivers no performance at all:
- the performance fee is refunded
- AnyGig platform fees are also refunded
- the issue is reviewed and action may be taken on the account
You are never required to pay for a service that is not delivered.
Objective Dispute Handling (No Subjective Judgement)
Disputes on AnyGig are handled using clear, objective rules.
We don't judge:
- artistic quality
- personal taste
- audience reaction
We look only at verifiable issues like attendance, delivery, and payment accuracy — and we apply the same rules every time.
No Hidden Relationships or Conflicts
AnyGig is a platform, not an agency.
- We don't employ performers
- We don't supply staff
- We don't take commissions from performers
- We don't influence who you book
Performers keep 100% of the fee they quote.
Our service fees are added separately and paid by hirers, and they are shown clearly before payment: 3.5% on an ordinary card payment, or 5% where optional Payment Protection is used, plus the Stripe processing fee. Performers remain responsible for their own tax, banking and business costs.
Account Controls & Bad-Actor Protection
To keep the platform safe, we:
- require verified accounts
- track repeated no-shows or abuse
- restrict or remove users who misuse the platform
This protects reliable performers and serious hirers from bad-faith behaviour.
Privacy & Data Protection
We only collect the data needed to:
- run the platform
- process bookings and payments
- comply with legal obligations
We don't sell personal data, and we don't store full card details.
Payment data is handled by specialist payment providers.
Clear Policies, Always Visible
All of our rules are published openly:
- Terms of Service
- Cancellation & Refund Policy
- Payment Holding & Release Policy
- Dispute Resolution Policy
- Acceptable Use Policy
Nothing is hidden. Nothing changes after the fact.
Built From Real Industry Experience
AnyGig was designed around the real problems people face in live events:
- late payment
- last-minute cancellations
- unclear agreements
- awkward disputes
The platform exists to remove friction — not create it.
